04-05-2023 Replacement dwelling and farm complex approved in AONB
JPPC have secured planning approval for the replacement of an agricultural workers’ dwelling and replacement farm complex at a beef rearing farm in the Cotswolds AONB.
The replacement dwelling is of a larger internal area and better design than what it seeks to replace and the new farm buildings seek to secure the future of a thriving rural business by replacing poor quality existing buildings which originated in a haphazard way with purpose-designed agricultural buildings which are specifically planned to meet the needs of the farm going forward.
The proposal also represents an enhancement to the character and quality of the AONB both in terms of landscaping enhancements, including the planting of newer native species and a net gain in biodiversity, including supplementing existing planting and enhanced wetland habitats, but also in terms of replacing existing structures with new buildings that will be more attractive and reflective of vernacular architectural traditions in the Cotswolds.
