April 2026 – Planning permission secured for natural swimming pond near Hook Norton

JPPC have been successful in securing planning permission for a natural swimming pond near Hook Norton, for a private client.

The site sits outside the village and is comprised of a farmhouse and a number of converted former agricultural buildings. The main farmhouse is a listed building and the application followed a dismissed appeal for a swimming pool in 2025. The application proposed a natural swimming pond to address the Inspector’s concerns from the appeal, to appear more appropriate for its open countryside and sensitive historic setting. The swimming pond will have a regeneration zone surrounding it, which will contribute towards enhancing biodiversity in the surrounding area.

Planning permission was granted in April 2026 under delegated powers by Cherwell District Council.
