August 2025 – Two Appeal Successes in South Oxfordshire Green Belt

JPPC has been successful at appeal in relation to two prior approval applications for upward extensions to a dwelling in the Green Belt in Toot Baldon.  Two iterations of the roof lift proposal were submitted to SODC.   SODC thought that both iterations of the proposed development would harm the character and appearance of the area.  However, the Planning Inspector agreed with JPPC’s assessment that each proposal was good design with suitable proportions and that due to the mixed character of building styles and scales in the locality, the additional storey would not cause harm. On this basis both appeals were allowed, giving the owner the choice as to which to carry out.
