We are pleased to note the grant of planning permission by Cherwell DC to Sweetcroft Homes for the demolition of the car garage at 1 Bicester Road in Kidlington and the provision of new build apartments in two blocks.  The car sales garage was a single storey building but located between two other new blocks of flats undertaken in the last ten years.  The consented apartment building will be over three storeys and provide a more attractive façade to the nearby Oxford Road.  Although the scheme provides 15 units it is unable to viably provide affordable housing on site, however the decision was issued subject to a planning obligation that has a review mechanism in place should the position on viability of affordable housing change.
