Student Accommodation at Former BT Site, Holloway, Oxford

Oxford City Council has issued a decision to grant planning permission for the demolition of existing buildings at the former BT Site off Hollow Way/the former Cowley Barracks site to allow the erection of new student accommodation comprising 3, 4 and 5 storey blocks with a total of 885 student rooms. When complete the scheme will help Oxford Brookes University to reduce the number of students in private housing and there will be communal space, a cafe and small shop on site that will be available to local residents too. With Unite JPPC and team collated a large number of technical inputs and undertook extensive local public engagement.

The site will be an attractive addition to the local area and will be car free, except for essential staffing and disabled parking. The developer Unite hopes to commence work soon to have the site available for the start of the 2019 academic year.
